Time Travel Tuesday-First Job

Annie's going back to our first job experience.

Surprise, surprise. My first job was at a sporting goods store,
Hibbett Sports.

I vaguely remember it. It was part-time, and it seems that alot of athletes needing part time jobs worked here. So, I got along with all my co-workers. I don't remember how much money I made. I just needed some "fun" money, so I didn't have to make much. And the task I hated most was cleaning up the store at closing time. People just don't take care of other's stuff. That store was so messy! And, I notice that department stores still are trashed by the end of the day, and I feel for those associates working there.

My boss at Hibbett's was quirky. I still see him around town--he now works at the other sporting goods store in our town. :) Anyway, he was real flexible about our time that we needed off. And I liked that.

I worked at Hibbett's until I had the opportunity to work part time at an accounting firm, which was my major in college, and the hours were better since they were during the day and I didn't have to work nights.

Hey Jenny,
I'm catching up on blogging after an extremely crazy week and a trip out of town. So, many comments. Here goes:
I can just see you working at a sporting goods store! That is cool.

I am excited that you got a whole afternoon to yourself! Wow! Wonder what that would be like!

I really enjoyed your commentary back and forth with Annie & Amanda regarding God's sovereignty. He is the perfect God!

And, finally, Isaiah is my favorite book of the Bible! So, I enjoyed reading about your feelings on it.

There, hope you can follow my crazy train of thoughts. Talk to you soon!

I used to work at a clothing store once and I know exactly what you are talking about with the clean up. It used to take us a minumum of an hour to clean it up and around Christmas was 2 1/2 hours. Uggh!

People are so messy, the parking lot at Walmart is almost a reason to just stay away! ICK!

Ah, the good old days when money you earned went to fun stuff instead of the electric bill, the sewer bill, etc.

Hey Coach J!!! Thanks for stopping at my site! My first job was working at Godfather's Pizza as a bus person. That meant cleaning up after everyone was done eating. I hated it. That was so long ago!!!

Glad you found my blog and signed in! Just found yours and saw where you have some golfers in your family. My husband used to be a golf pro - not touring but at the club so my family knows golf VERY well! Look forward to getting to know you!

I never realized people made such messes in stores! That would be so annoying to clean up after! Thank you for sharing your memories! :)
